The last episode of “Big Brother” season 16 ended on the precipice of a major blowup, as one house guest was saved from the eviction block by the Head of Household and another became enraged because he was chosen to take her place. On the episode airing tonight, July 10, 2014, all hell breaks loose, as house guests air their differences in the most entertaining manner, the second eviction of the season takes place, and eligible cast mates participate in the HOH competition.

Initially, Devin, the current HOH, was dead set on getting Brittany out of the “Big Brother” house and remaining true to his massive and ever-expanding alliance, the Bomb Squad. He had also promised Paola, or “Pow Pow,” that if she threw the Battle of the Block competition and he won the POV, he would use it to save her. She did just that, but things have not played out as promised.

It seemed to begin when Devin and Caleb, one of the gigantic Bomb Squad alliance members, had a falling out and their bromance began to crumble. Also, prior to the POV meeting, Brittany approached Devin and the two had a major heart to heart in the HOH room, which resulted in Devin developing a huge crush on the single mother and saving her from eviction.

As seen on Wednesday night’s episode, Zach basically told Devin to put him on the block, which, in Devin’s mind, made it a lot easier for him to choose a replacement for Brittany, who he intended to save. Despite this, Zach never thought he would be placed on the eviction block due to the promise Bomb Squad members made to one another about always keeping each other safe no matter what. In addition, Paola believed that her deal with Devin was golden and had no reason to suspect he would not save her from possibly heading home.

The second eviction of the season is slated to take place tonight, so currently Zach and Paola are both at risk for being voted out of the game. After the live eviction, all of the eligible house guests will participate in the HOH competition.
