Big Brother has had its share of drama this year and most of the drama stems from the houseguests sexist, racist, and homophobic actions and words.
Host Julie Chen was even angered by the comments and felt attacked personally because of them.
One of the most talked about houseguests was recently evicted and her mother is making some excuses for her daughters actions.
Big Brother contestant Aaryn Gries who was evicted from the BB house last week, faced some tough questions from host Julie Chen about her racist remarks while in the house.
Aaryn of course seemed shocked and did not remember saying some of them while blaming the ones she did remember on being a southern girl, having things taking out of context, and just joking.
She did apologize for anything that hurt anyone and said she felt horrible.
Not many people believed her though and no one thought it was funny.
Aaryn's mom was not too happy with how Julie was with her daughter and has commented on the racism accusations during the show.
While she did say that she was upset and did not approve of what Aaryn said;
While I love and continue to support my daughter Aaryn, words cannot describe my disappointment in some of her comments made on Big Brother. These inappropriate comments certainly do not represent the value system under which her father and I have raised her. Aaryn is a young 22-year-old college student that has spent 70 days living in a fish bowl and making mistakes for America to see."
She did seem to try and turn the negative comments away by adding that Aaryn is far from a racist because she took a black man to prom and had friends and relatives who were different races;
"Aaryn's first true love was Cuban American, and she has cousins of Japanese descent who she truly loves. She has never discriminated against anyone for their sexual orientation whether within our family or not. Aaryn truly loves all people equally."
Just the fact that she felt she had to say these things, says a lot.
Aaryn has been punished for her negative actions and comments on the show, though she is not fully aware of the consequences yet as she is still in sequester in the jury house.
She was fired from a modeling job and most of America, the ones who watch Big Brother, think she is a horrible person.
She did hear the booing from the audience when she came out of the house to speak with Julie, so she has to have an idea that she is not well liked by the viewers.
She said she was joking but that just made it worse.
Aaryn will have to face the wrath of America once she is out of the jury house on September 18, though she will not be the only houseguest who will have problems. Many of the BB houseguests will be in the same boat after saying many racist, and rude comments while on the show.
Gries mom did give America and the Big Brother viewers a glimmer of hope regarding her daughter and how she is a good person who is not a racist. She let them know that Aaryn sponsored a little Phillipino girl in the Save the Children program.
What a doll.
Big Brother can be seen on CBS, Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
