Frankie Grande’s grandfather Frank passed away at the age of 90 from stomach cancer and CBS allowed him to give a message to his family on “Big Brother After Dark.” Frankie was alone in the Head of Household room and spoke directly to his family and fans.
“Big Brother 16” live feed and TVGN subscribers were able to see Frankie Grande's entire eulogy to his grandfather Frank Grande beginning at approximately 9 p.m. PT on July 23 which was 12 a.m. ET July 24. Frankie talked about his grandfather battling stomach and colon cancer. Frankie said his grandfather was a fighter and even though the stomach cancer had returned his grandfather never gave up, not even at the end.
But fans in the “Big Brother 16” live feed chat rooms and also in “Big Brother 16” Facebook groups have questioned the sincerity of the eulogy. There were a few times throughout the speech when Frankie mentioned his famous sister Ariana Grande and how their grandfather got to enjoy watching her achieve fame and attend the Billboard Music Awards.
When wrapping up his eulogy, Frankie thanked CBS and TV Guide Network for allowing him the time to speak directly to his family and fans. He also gave his Twitter address. Discussions about this portion of Frankie’s speech were discussed many times in the chat rooms and groups. A small percentage of “Big Brother 16” fans think the eulogy was more of a self-promotional speech.
While sympathetic to his loss, this small percentage of “Big Brother 16” viewers and live feed subscribers already did not like the way Frankie was playing the game. They feel Frankie has been disloyal to his Team America alliance by all but demanding that Cody Calafiore put Donny Thompson up as the replacement nominee for eviction this week. Cody had already decided to put up Caleb Reynolds when Frankie convinced him that was not a good idea and advised him to put up Donny instead.
But, the majority of “Big Brother 16” fans felt that Frankie’s eulogy to his grandfather Frank was sincere and from the heart. There has been an outpouring of sympathy for the Grande family during this very difficult time.
