Upon leaving the “Big Brother 15” house last week, GinaMarie Zimmerman learned she had lost her pageant job due to the racist comments she made while on the show. On Sept. 23, 2013, GinaMarie posted a YouTube video thanking her supporters and fans and apologized to those she had offended with her remarks.
She initially says in the footage how appreciative she is of her fans for making collages, images, and other creative works and posting them to Twitter and Instagram.
GinaMarie, who won second place and $50,000 on “Big Brother 15,’ noted they make her “laugh and smile all the time…” and asked her supporters to “keep them coming,” saying, “I love them…”
In addition, she added, “I also want to say… I might have said some things that maybe offended some people and also my house guests… I want to say I’m sorry… No one’s perfect and I made some mistakes, and the only thing I can say is I learned from my mistakes and become a better person out of this whole thing… and I’m so sorry…”
GinaMarie continued, “Love you guys, love my house guests so much. I love my friends and family back at home and… besides all that if I made you guys laugh and smile this season… that’s great... I really am sorry…”
She also stated she plans on posting more videos, including make up tutorials, and will provide updates about “me and Nick.”
Nick Uhas, her obsession in the “Big Brother 15” house and the contestant who was evicted the second week this season, stated in an interview that he is taking GinaMarie on a date to a monster truck rally on Oct. 4. He also noted the date "is actually the first episode in a tour that I'm doing from New York to LA. I'm going to 15 different cities and I'm featuring 'Big Brother' house guests along the way... like YouTube all stars... and the focus is 'Big Brother' house guests... There's a Kickstarter for it... YouKnowYouTube Tour 2013..."
Thus, some are questioning his motives for the date, as he will likely garner a large amount of publicity from the GinaMarie outing for his Kickstarter project.
While in the “Big Brother 15” house, GinaMarie was heard on live feeds uttering racial slurs about two African American cast mates, saying, “The two blacks stick together… They’re like tokens.” She also called welfare “n***** insurance” and said of one of the house mates, Candice Stewart, that she is “on the dark side because she is already dark” and her “blackness is showing now that she’s not on the block.” At one point she also made derogatory comments about Elissa Slater’s adolescent son, stating, “that kid looks like a f****** Spanish Puerto Rican little dirt f***.”
Some who commented on the video posted Monday believe she is sincere in her apology, while others believe her words make no difference after all the hateful things that were said.
