Tonight’s episode of Big Brother picked up after the Nominations Ceremony. Helen was still under the impression that she has a final three deal with McCrae and Andy and would be safe this week, and Elissa was ready to fight for the Veto. Helen and Elissa talked briefly and agreed they needed to win the Veto and hope Aaryn would put Spencer up as a replacement nominee.
Helen pulled Andy aside to talk, and the two of them both ended up in tears. Andy lied to her and pretended to be out of the loop while Helen told him she thought Elissa was the target this week, and they needed Spencer to go home.
As Amanda and McCrae made out, Elissa came walking in the room and plopped down on the other bed. They stopped, but Amanda told Elissa they were just making out. Elissa didn’t take the hint and instead started talking game. She asked McCrae what he thought before Amanda told Elissa about Helen’s break down the day before.
Andy told Spencer that Helen was trying to get either her or Elissa off the block so that Spencer could go up as a replacement nominee. Andy did not want to play in the competition or win the Veto, so he wanted to light a fire under Spencer and get him to fight to win the Veto and keep the nominations the same.
Next, it was time to pick players for the Veto Competition – along with Aaryn, Elissa, and Helen, GinaMarie, Spencer, and Andy were all chosen to play (Andy was Elissa’s houseguest’s choice). After they picked, Helen and Andy had another conversation, where Andy continued to lie right to Helen’s face and pretend to be on her side. Andy offered to go upstairs and find out what others were talking about. Up in the HoH Room, Andy said he wanted to throw the competition, but Amanda wanted him to play, and they would figure it out later. Andy thought he was in a bad spot either way.
The Veto Competition was the fan-favorite, “Otev” (Veto spelled backwards). A giant, crying beaver was in the backyard – he told everyone he had been writing love letters to the evicted houseguests, but a flood washed away all the letters before he could mail them. He read off a short description of a houseguest, and everyone then had to race off and try to find the love letter to the houseguests the beaver was talking about. The last person to return in each round was eliminated. First to be eliminated was GinaMarie, followed by Helen, who was narrowly beaten by Elissa the beast, who threw herself up the ramp and into the last open seat just a hair in front of Helen. Elissa took Andy out and landed in the mud and the water, which ended up eliminating him during the third round. Aaryn was out next, and Elissa wound up beating Spencer out for the Power of Veto.
In the Have Not Room, Helen did a crazy dance, and she and Elissa discussed making sure Spencer would go home. Andy joined them and said he thought Spencer was going to go home. Helen thanked Andy for trying to win the Veto, even though she told us she could tell he wasn’t actually trying.
In the kitchen, Amanda told Elissa that Spencer would go up, and Helen was going to go home. Amanda was hoping to earn Elissa’s trust and get someone else in her back pocket. Amanda essentially threatened Elissa and told her there was no changing it, she shouldn’t even try, and if she told Helen, Amanda would come after her.
As they cleaned the bathroom, Elissa tried to warn Helen that she was in danger, and Helen got the gist of things. She figured out that Amanda had threatened Elissa, so Helen went to Aaryn in the HoH Room. Helen posed the idea of the two of them coming together with GinaMarie and Elissa to get Amanda and McCrae out. Helen commented on Andy’s lack of effort during the Veto Competition, and Aaryn told her that he runs and tells Amanda and McCrae everything she says.
The houseguests received wine, and it caused Aaryn to re-hash the old story of the night with Jeremy and the stolen wine. Amanda shared that when the others told her the wine was missing, she suggested checking everyone’s teeth to see who drank it. Aaryn found this to be just terrible, so the two got into an argument, and Aaryn sulked off to her HoH Room. Andy went upstairs to check on her, and Aaryn wondered if Amanda and McCrae had her best interests at heart. Amanda came upstairs and said she didn’t do anything wrong – it was Aaryn who drank the wine. The two kept arguing, and Amanda finally just walked out of the room. Aaryn said she had done everything for Amanda and was sick of playing someone else’s game. She even threatened to put her up on the block
During the Veto Meeting, Elissa used the Power of Veto on herself and told Helen she wanted to use the Veto on her, but she had to save herself – otherwise, she would be going home. She also reminded her she was a vote for her to stay. As expected, Aaryn then replaced Elissa with Spencer and told everyone it was because that was the corner she had been backed into.
