'Big Brother 12' recap: the unitard has left the building

We begin this pivotal Thursday episode of "Big Brother 12" with Britney's decision not to use the Power of Veto, which shocked Hayden in that it meant the "four-person alliance" that wasn't actually an alliance would not happen.

Of course, we know why the deal wasn't made -- Lane would have been put on the block instead of Kathy, and Britney didn't want that. While Brendon and Rachel gloated about their success, Hayden told them 'no hard feelings'. (Then again, he knew he was safe for sure.)

Everyone understood why Britney made her decision once they talked about it, and Enzo vowed to take revenge by putting Brendon and Rachel up if he wins HoH.

The funniest part during this footage early on, though, came when Britney put on Rachel's extensions and did one of the funniest impressions I've ever seen on the show.

The Brigade draws suspicion

Is there a flaw in the Brigade's system? Kristen realized that Hayden didn't have a problem with her campaigning, which made her believe that there may be some sort of secret alliance in the house.

She then went to Ragan to talk about it, but he wasn't able to completely piece it together. He though the "alpha males" were targeting weaker players, which is only partially the case. Kristen tried to continue her campaign by suggesting that Hayden would form an alliance with the guys.

Julie time

The interview with Julie Chen this week consisted of some footage from the luxury competition, which was just as funny the second time around. Britney then admitted that Ragan was tough to live with because of his gas. (Try getting dates now!)

Following this, we had a strange little segment that showed Hayden's mom acting "shocked" about the showmance with Kristen, and that she wanted the girl to go home in order to keep her son in the house. Even worse, the make-out sessions were destroying Kristen's boyfriend on TV.

In her one-on-one with Julie, Rachel admitted that she wanted to pull Britney into her alliance with Brendon and herself, which really doesn't make a lot of sense for Britney to do. She also claimed to feel threatened by some of the women in the house. Why does Rachel laugh at things that aren't funny?

The vote

Hayden gave a nice, honest speech wishing everyone the best. Kristen, meanwhile, said that she played this entire time in the house with heart -- a complete contradiction to what Andrew said when he left. (Sadly, no one went crazy with their speech this week.)

Here is how the voting went this week:

  • Enzo: Kristen
  • Kathy: Hayden
  • Matt: Kristen
  • Lane: Kristen
  • Ragan: Kristen
  • Brendon: Kristen (with a shout-out to Andrew)
  • Britney: Kristen

So Kristen actually got one vote, which could actually land Kathy in hot water if Hayden wins next week. The saddest thing for Kristen is that she had to leave the house wearing that unitard. Her exit was far friendlier than Andrew's was last week, and received plenty of support from the audience outside.

The best thing about Kristen's farewell package was Rachel's message -- which, for the second week in a row, contained a message about "standing up for her man". Does she really need to be this protective? Julie Chen informed Kristen about the Brigade, and she really wasn't upset about it.

The new HoH

Julie Chen spent most of the episode talking about how important this new Head of Household challenge would be, in that the new Head of Household could very well unleash the new saboteur -- who is shockingly Ragan.

The HoH challenge this week was all about paint. Contestants had to stay on board a pain can for as long as possible -- while getting sprayed in the process. It is a test of endurance, meaning you will have to check back here later to find out who wins.
