'Big Brother 12' recap: Matt's mistake is blown up again

Following last week's controversial decision to put Andrew and Kathy on the block, this episode of "Big Brother 12" started with every houseguest on the show agreeing with everyone at home -- Matt is out of his mind.

The two nominees spent a good bit of time sulking before the Power of Veto, though Andrew sounded just as upset about Rachel putting peaches in the iced tea. Now, as a "have not", he can't drink it. This probably especially hurts since he pretty much takes care of everyone as the "house dad".

The veto challenge

The nominees this week are Andrew, Kathy, Matt, Brendon, Rachel, and Lane. This immediately hurt the Brigade's plan to backdoor Brendon, and it caused everyone to pray for Andrew to pull off a victory.

This did produce some great lines, though:

  • Andrew: "I thought God loved me!"
  • Lane: "I never knew Jewish guys prayed in ninja outfits."

The start of this challenge was made even better by the fact that host Enzo had to dress like a genie. The challenge? Trying to remember all of the objects, and then gambling on guessing how many objects are in jars, boxes, etc. We've all seen these people play this challenge in previous seasons.

The first person that went down was Lane, and then Matt -- proving the Brigade needs to step it up in challenges. Kathy went next, and it quickly became a two-person race between Andrew and Brendon for the PoV. (Rachel was more or less useless.)

The most expected result

We all know that Brendon is not going to use the Power of Veto, but what was really interesting in this ceremony is how Andrew decided to act completely wacky during the ceremony. First, the guy told Brendon and Rachel he was going after them -- then, he asked for the Power of Veto anyway. Did he fall on his head? As big of an Andrew fan that I am, this was the strangest speech of the season so far.

Did Andrew just dig his own grave?
