Fishermen all over the southern states are waking up to some heavy rain this morning and that is not a good thing. Bass fishing in the rain is possible, but is just not very fun for the angler. One good thing about a Saturday is that you can get a lot of tips from the many fishing shows on television. You can also catch up on all of the bass magazines that you have subscribed to.
The largemouth bass are out there and many of them are taking the bait. Whether you are using live baits or using lures, you can get a nice catch of bass ranging in medium to super large. Right now I have been catching a ton using both minnows and popper lures. Medium sized in both. I have also found that using dark red plastic worms with the Carolina rig is helpful.
Getting out early in the morning or late in the evening is your best bet. Even if it is sunny in the middle of the day, the majority of the fish are not biting as well. You can catch other species of fish during the day, like bream, crappie and perch. Keep checking the latest news from places like Bass Pro Shops for the best equipment and baits to use.
