A "Big Bang Theory" record was set when the popular CBS show returned to television after the holidays. On Jan. 5, The Inquisitr reported that the show brought in its biggest numbers this past week -- in its sixth season on air. Not only did they break their previous record, but the show proved that it has staying power -- something that can easily fade after so many seasons.
"The final ratings for Thursday night’s episode of 'The Big Bang Theory' came in yesterday afternoon, and the numbers were big. The series hit a record viewership count with 19.25 million viewers and a 6.1 18-49 rating" (The Inquisitr).
The "Big Bang Theory" record has been applauded by fans. Many of them would agree that the show -- which tells the day-to-day story of a group of nerdy scientists (who are best friends) and their girlfriends -- is one of the best comedy sitcoms on television. The show is doing extremely well and while you may think that it's a "niche" show that only a certain type of person would enjoy -- well the ratings record would prove you wrong.
Each week, the story line on "Big Bang" is pretty light and always funny. People seem to love all of the characters and while there is always some kind of conflict, the show is just a "feel good" kind that people look forward to watching each week.
The "Big Bang Theory" record could be broken again -- especially if more people decide to give it a chance.
