Mrs. Wolowitz replaces Howard with Raj on this week’s episode of “The Big Bang Theory.” The episode, titled “The Spoiler Alert Segmentation” aired on Feb. 7 on CBS.
Howard’s mom had a very difficult time with him moving out when he married Bernadette. Her feelings of loneliness were compounded when the family dentist put an end to their relationship.
Howie asks Raj to check on his mother while he’s out of town with Bernadette. Raj reluctantly agrees and we see him eating dinner with Mrs. W. He says he has to go when she asks him if he’d like dessert and she begins to cry.
Raj feels guilty and says he’ll stay for dessert. She announces she’ll be making a chocolate cheese cake for him from scratch.
Howard calls his friend to see how it went with his mother the next morning and is concerned to learn that Raj is still there. Raj explains he had too much sherry and so Mrs. W tucked him in Howie’s old bed.
Howard urges his friend to get out before he’s trapped by guilt and food. Raj doesn’t believe Howard as first, but calls back begging for help when he realizes Mrs. Wolowitz has hidden his keys.
The episode of “The Big Bang Theory” ends with Raj trying to climb out a window and Howard’s mom pulling him back inside.
