'Big Bang Theory' engagement finally happens after years of waiting

Fans of "The Big Bang Theory" were excited last night to see Leonard and Penny finally get engaged. This moment has been coming for a long time but it was starting to feel like it would never happen. On Friday, Today talked about how happy fans are that it all went down on the show last night.

This couple has actually had a proposal four times in the past, but nobody said yes. Now they are on their fifth proposal and it all worked out because this time she said yes. The show has been renewed through the 2016-2017 season already so it may take a while before the fans actually get to see the big wedding.

Right before the proposal he asked her what she needs. Penny ended up yelling at him "You, you stupid Pop-Tart." It all started out as a strange engagement until she realized he was still carrying a ring around in his wallet that he had been carrying for two years. Leonard then got down on one knee and popped the question.

Now Penny is without a job, but since she is marrying Leonard she should be just fine. Fans are expecting her to keep working on her acting career though. She just doesn't seem like the type to be a house wife. This won't be the first wedding on the show, but fans are still holding out that it won't be the last. Sheldon and Amy are a great match, but nobody knows if they will ever get engaged on "The Big Bang Theory."

Kaley went to Twitter teasing that she forgot to shave during last night's episode since she was dressed as an ape. She didn't say anything about the big proposal though. In real life, she is actually a newlywed herself after just tying the knot with Ryan Sweeting. She wore a non-traditional dress in real life that was pink in color.
