Going to the source to improve your game and gather opinions from the people who matter most is the best way to get the most out of your game. Big Bang Entertainment has done exactly this with MX vs ATV Supercross, according to President and CEO Ken George. Looking to separate the new title from the previous versions, Ken states the team has interviewed some of today’s top professional riders and let them play the game. The most important element of doing this was the feedback from the riders. The riders advised what they liked, what they didn’t, and what they would like to see in the future.

The team also went back to all the previous games in the series and noted what made those titles stand out the most. Elements such as real time track deformation and pre-loading the clutch will be included in Supercross. Thanks to the input from the riders, the physics and gameplay have been reworked to help isolate this title from the others, as well.

Another important idea of bringing in the riders for feedback was to properly capture the benefits of real ATV racing and real Motocross bikes. The ATV’s tend to hook up better and corner on flat surfaces, however the Motocross bikes corner better in the berms and will see increased height on their jumps. The idea, per Ken George, was to bring the strength of each bike into the game while making each of them relatively competitive.

MX vs ATV Supercross will be hitting the PlayStation 3, PC, OS X, Linux, and Xbox 360 on August 7th for $29.99
