BIG ASS SPIDER to premiere on SyFy network tongiht 9/8pm central

Love movies that are fun romps, that combine horror and comedy elements? Are you staying in this Saturday night? Then check out BIG ASS SPIDER, which premieres in your home, on the SyFy network tonight, Saturday April 19th, 2014 at 9/8C.

Los Angeles Horror, is a tight knit community, and there is proof to that in how many people showed up to support “Big Ass Spider,” both while in production and during their grass roots tour across the world, film festival to film festival, Facebook to twitter, with legions of fans to follow. The hard work has paid off with Director Mike Mendez, and his team, now bringing the world a hilariously entertaining horror movie, "Big Ass Spider," via the SyFy network.

"Big Ass Spider" is a movie that was shot entirety in Los Angeles. Directed by native Los Angeleno Mike Mendez, using Downtown LA as a backdrop. Personally, this Los Angeleno enjoyed watching LA in danger from a ridiculously large spider, with portions getting demolished.

“Big Ass Spider”, is, you guessed it, about a very large alien spider, originally titled Mega Spider, starring Greg Grunberg (Heros, The Client List, Alias, Felicity), Clare Kramer (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Lin Shaye (Insidious, Insidious: Chapter 2), Ray Wise (Twin Peaks), with guest appearances from pretty much everyone in horror, see close knit community statement above.

Wondering if "Big Ass Spider" is for you? If you like the blatantly campy, yet well done and fun genre of horror, then "Big Ass Spider" is for you.

You might be wondering, Yes! But other than a spider what is this movie about?! A military lab looses a gigantic alien spider, or better said the spider escapes. The military’s efforts of capture fail. Logically the only people who can save Los Angeles are one exterminator and some scientists. It's basically Ghost Busters, sans ghost and with only one buster, and a team of Scooby-Doo, sans dog, with an alien spider antagonist. Like I said, campy fun.

Get your "Big Ass Spider" on.
