Bieber paparazzo killed: Justin releases statement

A Justin Bieber paparazzo was killed while chasing the pop star in his Ferrari. On Jan. 1, TMZ reported that a photographer was hit and killed while trying to take pictures of Justin -- who wasn't even in the car. The vehicle was pulled over by police and the photog figured it was a great opportunity to take some pictures.

"The photog crossed Sepulveda to snap pics and was told twice by the CHP to go back to his car on the other side of the road. When the photog tried crossing back, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle as he crossed back and was killed," TMZ reported.

The Bieber paparazzo who was killed probably won't change the way photogs conduct business. The paparazzi will do whatever it takes to get that perfect picture and sadly, something like this was bound to happen. A lot of celebrities would love for law enforcement to take a stance and take things more seriously -- even The Biebs hopes that this incident inspires change.

"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves," Bieber said in a statement.

The name of the Bieber paparazzo who was killed has not been released.
