Justin Bieber simply cannot stay out of the headlines in 2013. The pop icon was photographed smoking marijuana a few days ago, a paparazzo was killed trying to photograph him, and now some of his avid fans have lost their mind and started to inflect harm to themselves in an effort to stop the singer from smoking pot.
According to omg!, on Jan. 8, 2013, Bieber fans started a trend on Twitter of “#CutForBieber.” The trend was designed to encourage those with Bieber fever to cut their wrists to inspire the heartthrob to stop smoking weed.
The hashtag was started as a prank, but ended up getting a lot of attention from the news and other celebrities. Even though Bieber himself has made no comment regarding the trend, other celebrities were not able to hold their tongue. Miley Cyrus tweeted to the trend stating that cutting was nothing to joke about and that it was a serious issue that many people are dealing with every day.
The trend that was meant to be a joke turned out to be anything but a joking matter as many pictures of bloody wrists started to pop up on the feed. There have been no reports of any Bieber fans bleeding to death and no response as to if the trend will inspire Bieber to stop smoking marijuana.
