Biden touts Obama withdrawal from Iraq as 'great achievement'

As reported by USA Today on Jan. 6, 2014, in the wake of Iraqi's Anbar province recently falling to al-Qaeda terrorists, American veterans of the hard fought victories have referred to the area as "hallowed" ground, yet Joe Biden recently referred to the withdrawal as one of Barack Obama's "greatest achievements" (click here for video).

USA Today cites that many veterans of the battles for the cities of Fallujah and Ramadi are haunted by "a feeling that America abandoned those tribal leaders and sheiks who helped them battle al-Qaeda when the war looked nearly hopeless."

Marc Chretien, who formerly worked extensively and successfully in Anbar province for the US State Department with local chieftains also lamented the fall, "to find them with their backs against the wall and abandoned to their fate just compounds the tragedy."

Yet when many expert in the geo-political-military arena questioned the wisdom of Barack Obama ordering all US forces out of Iraq, Vice President Joe Biden quipped in February 2010 that the decision for a total pullout of the Middle Eastern nation would be one of the "greatest achievements" of the Obama presidency.

Obama also made the decision to not even have a residual force remain in-country in case of emergency contingencies.

Such as al-Qaeda taking over the nation.

Anbar province alone constitutes roughly one-third of the Iraqi nation, and according to reports, the entire province has fallen to the same terrorist organization that attacked the United States in September 11, 2001.
