Bideawee is the oldest no-kill animal shelter and organization in the United States. Founded in 1903, Bideawee ensures that its cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies are healthy both physically and emotionally as each animal receives the individual attention they deserve to prepare them to be taken home by suitable families. Here are a few of the cats that are currently available for adoption:
1. Grimsby is a 6 month old neutered male, white and brown spotted Domestic Shorthair mix who came to Bideawee in October 2011. This handsome, energetic, and vocal kitten is a survivor of a hit and run accident and came to Bideawee with a fractured pelvis. Grimsby would be happiest in a home with an experienced family with members over age 12 and will get along fine with another cat or dog. His ID number is 14360426.
2. Orville is an 8 month old neutered male, red and white Domestic Mediumhair mix who came to Bideawee in December 2011. His ID number is 14812833.
3. Celie is a 4 year old, spayed female, black and orange Domestic Shorthair mix who came to Bideawee in December 2011 after being rescued as a stray in Brooklyn from a feral cat colony. The manager of the colony saw that Celie is actually not a feral and belongs in a home with an experienced family with children over age 9. Her ID number is 14816558.
4. Big Daddy is a 5 year old, neutered male, Russian Blue Domestic Shorthair who came to Bideawee in December 2011 after being rescued as a stray. He is friendly and playful and will get along well with children but would be happiest if he was your only cat. His ID number is 14491733.
5. Phaedra is a 1 year old, spayed female, red and white tabby Domestic Shorthair mix who came to Bideawee in December 2011. Phaedra has a playful and affectionate personality who loves attention and would be happiest if she was your only pet. Her ID number is 14564409.
6. Bunny is a 6 and a half year old, spayed female, brown and black British and Domestic Shorthair mix who came to Bideawee in June 2011. Her ID number is 13365811.
7. Calliope is a 2 year old, spayed female black and white Domestic shorthair mix who came to Bideawee in November 2011. She will get along well with just about any family including those with young children, other cats, and first time cat owners. Her ID number is 14564431.
