BIBLE UNIQUENESS AND MEANING OF THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES
An extraordinary thing about the Bible is that it is not like any other book. It is full of proofs of itself and of who God is. Although this article is primarily about the Feast of Tabernacles, it is important to logically demonstrate that the Bible is totally unique. That way what it indicates about Tabernacles will be a lot more meaningful. From the Beginning of the Book, it shows God Taking 7 days to finish creation. He is said to create man on the 6th day and resting the 7th day; set it apart thereby making it holy. Man is made to Image and imitate the Elohim (God). It is said that he created the heavens, Sun, moon and Stars for moedeem (signs and seasons)
So he made the man of two types, male and female like puzzle pieces, which fit together. He told them to be fruitful and multiply themselves. It is said that they came together and produced offspring after their own image after their own likeness. This is incidentally what God said he was doing when he assayed to make man. And this folks is the basic whole story of how God will settle all that matters. All that matters can be presented in this question. How do you create a being with free will that is guaranteed not to sin?
However if someone is overly coerced, what happens to free will? Well you’d probably feel a little like you are being watched by the NSA and will not do what you normally would do. In short you may act out someone else’s idea of character instead of what you really believe in. Scripture shows that what God did in telling the end from the beginning was to make it something you have to search for and reason about to see; leaving room for doubt.
It is interesting that what God did was set up a number of proofs that you have to search for to find. These proofs are exact. Here, I will just name a few and leave a few links without full explanation. The intent here is to show the methodology. (1) The Zodiac. It is intimated in Scripture how it was set up for signs and seasons (appointed times). Many things in history happens on these appointed times. Like the Birth of Christ. Revelation the 12th Chapter has the sign in heaven; a certain alignment of sun, moon, planets and stars, that with modern computers allows the setting of the exact time that his birth took place, within one ten millionth of a day. Other signs will be in the heavens as foretold by scripture. (2) The Bible gives direct to the year and day certain predictions of what will happen to certain countries, It predicted that from the time the Jews would be allowed to go back from Babylonian captivity to rebuild Jerusalem, there would be 483 years before the messiah appears. The Babylonians kept times as it related to astronomical events, so we know this happened in 457 BCE on the first day of the month Nisan (Aviv). 483 years from that day (Aviv, 27 CE) Jesus came saying “THE TIME IS FULFILLED” The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Well it had been 483 years and I guess they just didn’t believe the scripture themselves, because they should have known; after the time had passed, only this man now could have ever been the Messiah.
Then there are the prophecies given to Daniel 2500 years ago that literally foretold the rise and fall of the major kingdoms which will last until Christ takes over the world. (1) Babylon (2) Media-Persia (3) Greece and (4) Rome. Now Rome according to Revelation would fall and be revived 7 times. See my article on this. During this time a little state concerned about religious matters would arise; become part of Rome for all 7 revivals. It would changes God’s commandments and times of celebrations (moedeem) This little horn would last until Christ comes and set up his kingdom (Takes over the world) in the last days. All of this has taken place except the final revival. If you want some historical references, try the Encyclopedia Britannica 11th edition and the “Two Babylons”, by Hislop. Also check out From “Sabbath to Sunday” by Dr. Samuele Bacchiocchi, who was given complete access to the Vatican archives. His work was also approved officially by the Pope himself; showing that it was considered accurate. Great scholarship must be applauded no matter what denomination a person is from. It does not means you have to believe every other doctrine but accept the truth.
