Bianca Jones: Father talks with Nancy Grace, answers questions

Nancy Grace talked with D'Andre Lane, the father of missing Bianca Jones on her show on Wednesday night, according to Detroit News.

Lane had a "1000 yard stare" as he fielded the questions from Nancy.  He had previously been at a press conference at the attorney's office and began to cry as he talked about his anguish over his daughters disappearance and the perception that he has something to do with her disappearance.

Nancy Grace welcomes Lane and his attorney, Terry L. Johnson.

GRACE: Mr. Lane, can you give me a description of the assailants, number one? That would be useful in trying to track Bianca down.

JOHNSON: You know, Nancy, again, we`ve given a description of the assailants, and the police have put that out.

GRACE: OK. Great. Can you give me the description tonight so the viewers can hear it, Mr. Lane?

JOHNSON: Well, again, Nancy, I`m not exactly sure -- don`t you have a composite that you can pull? Wouldn`t that be better?

GRACE: I have a black-and-white composite, Mr. Johnson. If he could describe -- he said there`s two unknown armed assailants. I have a composite of one of them. It`s a black-and-white charcoal sketch. I don`t know what color their outfits were. I don`t know how tall they are. I don`t know what the other one even looks like.  All right, I`m going to try again, Mr. Lane. What did the assailants look like?

JOHNSON: Nancy, just -- you know, we don`t want to start this off on a hostile terms. What we`re attempting to do is do everything we can to get Bianca back.

Grace also asked Lane about where he was going, as there was some information that he was on his way to check on his financial aid for school.

GRACE: Where were you going the morning the car was carjacked?

LANE: I was on my way to her mother`s house at the moment the car was carjacked.

GRACE: I`m sorry, I couldn`t hear you. Repeat?

LANE: I was on my way to her mother`s house moments before the car was carjacked.

GRACE: Now, I read something that you were on your way to see about your financial aid for your student tuition. Is that incorrect?

LANE: That is incorrect. That happened prior to all of this taking place. I`ve fully cooperated with the police and given them every bit of information that I could give them. I don`t know where you`re getting your information from, but that was prior, earlier on in the day. When the situation took place, we were on our way to her mother`s to get her more clothes so she could spend more time with her family.

GRACE: OK. OK, I couldn't understand what you said. I think you said you did not take her into the building to check on tuition because you yourself did not go into the building, is that right?

LANE: Yes. We did not enter the building.

GRACE: OK. Then how did you check on your tuition?

LANE: I was on my way up there to check on my tuition. I realized that I left my briefcase at home, which had the other paperwork that I needed to file for my financial aid.

GRACE: OK. Now, does this mean that you were then bypassing the briefcase and bypassing the tuition and going to get Bianca some more clothing?

JOHNSON: You know, Nancy, again I believe these questions have been answered. And our focus here tonight is doing what we can to get Bianca back to her father and her mother.

Grace asked Johnson to talk about the report that Lane failed the polygraph test.

First of all, as anybody knows, when you take a polygraph, you don't take it under certain conditions. Number one, Mr. Lane was a victim, a victim of a carjacking in which his daughter was abducted. He`s then taken into custody. He is interrogated. And then he`s asked to draw a picture -- or I`m sorry -- to describe the people that did this to him. Following that, they then strap him up for a polygraph after such a heinous act had been done on him.

That is not the proper way to take a polygraph. He didn`t fail a polygraph. It wasn't done properly. So when you talk about he failed a polygraph, no. It has to be administered in a proper manner.

Grace also wanted some clarification about whether there were two carjackers or one.

LANE: Like I told the investigators, there were two people in the car. One person got out of the car and aimed the firearm at me. I could not describe to them what the person behind the wheel of the car looked like. I gave them all the information I could give them.

Lane has been said to be uncooperative and Grace asked him what he has done to cooperate with the police.

I have answered every question….I sat down with a sketch artist…I have been trying to give them everything  they asked for.

Lane sums up the interview with saying, "I don't care what the media is putting out about me.  I just want  my daughter home."

On D'Andre's Facebook page he has an entry post July 22, 2011 entitled, "Father to son's." In part it says, "...And to my lil girls you know daddy loves you Il’andra, Addison, and Bianca as soon as I get the house together sleep over’s, home cooking, ice cream, movies, and daddies love. Over all I’m going to be a better father. Every man with a child should do the same. We can all do better!"
