Jim Morrison may have sung "When the music's over/Turn out the lights", but the good people of Seattle clearly haven't heeded Mr. Mojo Risin's advice.

The Bumbershoot Festival is undoubtedly the highlight of this Labor Day weekend, but the musical events aren't limited to the confines of the Seattle Center. Mainstage acts Bob Dylan, Weezer and Mary J. Blige will be turning out the lights at 10.30pm, but the party continues at a number of venues around town.

The Crocodile Cafe will be hosting a Bumbershoot After Show party on Saturday September 4, with doors opening at 9pm, a full 90 minutes before the headlining acts leave the stage. Don't worry, though - if you're wanting to stay at Bumbershoot until they kick you out, the party will continue into the small hours of the morning. The evening includes sets from P Smoov, Rik Rude and DJ Darwin, and there will be a guest appearance by a mystery Warp Records artist. Our money's on Jamie Lidell, who'll also be appearing earlier in the day at Bumbershoot.

Tickets for the Crocodile Cafe Bumbershoot After Show party cost $17 plus fees, and are available online from The Stranger's ticketing service, or in person at Sonic Boom Records.

On Sunday September 5 the party shifts to Seattle's new Hard Rock Cafe, for an official festival after-party. This time the doors open at a reasonable 11pm, and the music will be provided by Dead Confederate, Surfer Blood and Futurebirds. Surfer Blood will be appearing at Bumbershoot earlier in the day, while Dead Confederate's show at Bumbershoot '09 was one of last year's highlights.

Tickets for the Hard Rock Cafe Bumbershoot After-Party cost $10 in advance or $15 on the door, and can be purchased online at Ticketweb.

If you're wanting to get the party started early, there's also a kick off party for the festival at the Crocodile Cafe on Friday September 3, with doors opening at 7pm. The evening will feature a guest DJ set by Sune from festival favorites The Raveonettes. This event is sponsored by Spin Magazine, and tickets are free via RSVP email to events@spin.com.

We will be covering all three days of this year's Bumbershoot live from the festival itself, so be certain to subscribe to our articles (link at the top of the page) or follow us on Twitter to stay up to date on the latest news and reviews from the three-day event.
