Beyonce to receive The Millennium Award at the Billboard Music Awards

Fashionable and talented R&B singer Beyonce Knowles will be honored this evening at the Billboard Music Awards. The event will take place in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Beyonce will be honored with The Millenneum Award for her influence in music according to Access Hollywood. It is not only music that the singer has influenced. Knowles has influenced fashion with her unique style and also as the face for campaigns with Armani and Tommy Hilfiger. She was involved in creating the clothing line The House of Dereon in 2004.

The singer has won 16 Grammy Awards and 2 Golden Globes. Basically there is not anything this talented lady can't tackle.

The Record Industry Association of America lists Beyonce as the top certified artist of the decade.

Knowles rose to fame in the 1990's as the lead singer of the popular singing group Destiny's Child. She went on to start a solo career and released her debut album in 2003.

Since then she has had hit after hit. She has also done some memorable collaborations with Lady Gaga.

Beyonce sang the classic "At Last" at the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

This evening she will be honored by many big names including Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand, Bono, Stevie Wonder and more.

Beyonce recently showed up at a school and suprised students by joining in and dancing to one of her hits. You could tell by the looks on the girls faces, that she is someone that they view as a major role model.
