Beyonce Performing for Free, Everyone Else Will Be Paid

According to articles published Jan. 30 by The Bosh, Christian Post, Popular Critic, and other news outlets, Beyonce will not be paid a performance fee for her Super Bowl Halftime Show.

An NFL spokesperson has confirmed that as customary, NFL does not pay the artists who do the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but they do pay up to $600,000 for production costs. So while Beyonce will be performing for free, her band, backup dancers, and technical crew will be paid.

Cost overruns are common. Madonna's 2012 halftime show cost an estimated $1 million to stage. Additional production costs are normally covered by the performing artist, or his or her record label or sponsors. Beyonce Making Outrageous Diva-Type Demands?

Entertainmentwise of Jan 29 and several other media outlets and celebrity gossip sites report that Beyonce played the diva card by making the following outrageous demands:

Asking to have Blue Ivy’s $60,000 cedar bed shipped from their home in New York to the Superdome.
Insisting that Blue Ivy’s nursery be decorated with rose-scented candles
Stipulating that the temperature in Blue Ivy’s backstage nursery constantly be kept at precisely 78 degrees.
Requesting that more than $6,000 in personal cigars and alcohol be shipped to New Orleans for Jay-Z

The anonymous source who provided this information also allegedly said about Beyonce:

“She's by far one of the most difficult celebrities we've ever dealt with. The list is as long as my arm.

However, according to reports published on Jan. 30 by BET.com, Urban Daily and HLNtv.com and others, Beyonce hasn’t been demanding at all. NFL's Vice President of Communications, Brian McCarthy says that Beyonce and her team have been a pleasure to work with.

On Jan. 30, Us Weekly’s source noted that Beyonce has been very gracious during rehearsals, even personally thanking every one of the hundreds of people involved with her performance.

Destiny’s Child Reunion Rumors– True or False?

Are those rumors about a Destiny’s Child reunion true or false? Well it depends on which rumor you’ve heard. Will there be a Destiny’s Child reunion at the Super Bowl Halftime Show or not? According to Us Weekly and the Houston Chronicle of Jan. 30, Beyonce will be joined at half time by her former Destiny’s Child companions, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. The trio will reportedly sing a medley of some of their greatest hit, in addition to performing ‘Nuclear” their new song.

However Michelle Williams has dismissed these reports, calling them unconfirmed rumors, adding that she’s a member of the cast of the musical “Fela!,” which is scheduled for two Super Bowl Sunday performances at the Shakespeare Theater in Washington D.C. But it’s interesting to note that the theater’s website says Michelle will not be appearing Jan. 31-Feb. 3.

If the Destiny’s Child reunion actually does take place, it will be their first public performance together in eight years.

New Beyonce Super Bowl Rehearsal Photos

The Mirror, The Bosh, Popular Critic, Metro and numerous other media outlets report that Beyonce has recently posted some new pictures of herself, her backup dancers, and her band as they rehearse for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The photos are posted on Beyonce’s Instagram and Tumblr accounts, but you can see some of them in the video below. The Super Bowl pictures serve several purposes:

they serve to satisfy fans curiosity about what’s going on behind the scenes
they get everyone excited about the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show
but more importantly, they divert attention away from the lip-sync scandal that still dominates the news.
