Everybody can officially shut up now because King Bey has spoken... somewhat. That's right, Beyonce has silenced her critics and haters alike by belting out her version of the Star Spangled Banner at the Superbowl XLVII press conference yesterday. She had not one instrument or instrumental, she didn't have any back up tracks or vocals playing in the background; it was just her beautiful voice, acapella, filling the room with sheer joy!!!
She proved the naysayers wrong by singing the anthem LIVE (which we all knew she could do anyway... I don't know why people made such a big deal out of it. I'm glad she gave em the preverbial F**K YOU by belting it out unexpectedly, in front of fans, friends and foes!!) I love that woman...
She walked out in white looking like an angel... stepped up to the mic... asked the audience to stand... and then she knocked em back with that voice!!!!
She went on to explain WHY she lip synched at the inauguration by saying...
"I am a perfectionist... and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed, and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show, and a very, very important (and emotional) show for me... one of my proudest moments. Due to the weather, due to the delays, due to no proper sound check I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the President and the inauguration and I wanted to make him and my country proud, so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track (which is very common in the music industry) and I'm very proud of my performance!!"
