Beyonce says she communicated with Blue Ivy during childbirth

Beyonce is talking about her busy life as a working mom in the March issue of Vogue. In the interview -- which was made available online on Feb. 11 -- the pop superstar also went into detail about giving birth to baby Blue Ivy last January, calling her one-year old daughter “my homey, my best friend.”

Beyonce is not always forthcoming about her personal life, but in the interview she’s a gushing new mom who tells all about the strong connection she felt with the baby while she was giving birth.

“I felt very maternal around eight months,” Beyonce tells the magazine. “And I thought I couldn’t become any more until I saw the baby ... But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain. . . . We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.”

The Grammy Award winner also said she was able to let go and “appreciate every contraction.”

“It was the best day of my life,” she said.

According to The Sun, baby Blue’s first birthday bash last month featured a lavish princess-themed party, complete with $95,000 worth of white and pink roses, elaborate engraved goodie bags, and a cake that cost $2400. The icing on the cake? A diamond encrusted Barbie that cost more than $80,000.

The singer told Vogue that she definitely wants another child, but she doesn’t know when.

Meanwhile, her concert tour --The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour Starring Beyonce -- will make a stop in Philadelphia on July 25 at the Wells Fargo Center. The on-sale date for Philly tickets is on Feb. 15 at 10:00 a.m. You can find ticketing information here.
