Beyonce credits a mostly plant-based diet and rigorous cardio workouts for her stunning recent weight loss, Celebrity Health Fitness reported.
"Beyoncé is all about health and wellness," said Beyonce's longtime trainer, Marco Borges. "She just wants to feel good." Beyonce made headlines after undergoing a 22-day vegan diet in December 2013 with her husband, Jay-Z. The couple emerged from their vegan-diet challenge looking noticeably slimmer.
Beyoncé, who's now a tiny size 2, showed off her dramatic weight loss at the 2014 Grammy Awards. Borges, who has trained Beyoncé since 2007, said the singer now follows a mostly vegan diet.
She's sticking to a mostly plant-based diet with some fish here and there," said Borges, CEO of 22 Days Nutrition, a maker of vegan protein bars.
The 5-foot-7 Beyonce who weighed 195 pounds while pregnant, lost 65 pounds shortly afterward by following a strict diet and working out several days a week. She has since lost more weight. Borges said Beyonce's go-to snacks are 22 Days Nutrition Bars.
Marco said Beyoncé is a workout fanatic who usually exercises with Jay-Z, doing a combination of cardio exercise, body-weight squats, lunges, sprint intervals and plyometric exercises.
"They'll work out together whenever possible," said Borges, author of The 22 Day Revolution. "She'll be running and he'll be on a bike, or she'll be jumping rope and he'll be running."
Marco said Beyonce easily maintains her weight loss with a vegan diet.
