Beyonce's new music makes marriage look sexy

If you haven't had a chance to listen (and watch) to Beyonce's new album, open another tab in your browser and hit up Youtube.

People chide artists for not growing and evolving with their audience. For example, a certain unnamed R&B artist has been lambasted since the promotion of his new album because he's not creating music reflective of his age. Many writers, both digital and traditional, have publicly denounced his status as a musical genius for things that have occurred in his personal life. Good or bad, music does mirror real life and life will often imitate art.

Beyonce's new album personifies that mantra to the 10th power. The song that has so many talking, writing, and critiquing is "Drunk in Love". In the video, you see a giddy Beyonce singing about what a happily married women would sing about; sex with her husband. Not to be outdone, Mr. Carter hops on and reciprocates his wife's carnal lust with "foreplay in a foyer, f*ked up my Warhol, slid the panties right to the side, ain't got the time to take drawers off." Whether you're a fan, stan, or casual listener, you have to admit that these 2 continue to make marriage look like something out of a Hollywood movie. Added to that is it's now on wax that the type of sex life they have is what some feel don't or can't exist once you get married.

Having sex in a marriage should be the best sex of your life. For one, you're connected to your spouse on a deep emotional level. When you have such a soul tie, he or she can simply touch you in the right spot to get things going. It doesn't take much. But what people tend to under-estimate is that marital sex allows you to be more free. You don't have to worry about protection too often. Mentally, you feel safe. For women, that feeling of safety and security is necessary for them to completely let go and be engaged. On "Partition", Beyonce croons about mouth action in the backseat. Could you do that with someone you don't care as much about? Of course. Is it the same type of excitement as doing it with your wife? Nope.

In any romantic relationship, you need passion. The Carters have a passionate relationship that's been documented since her solo release in 2003. As they've built their careers, gotten married, and had a child, their music has changed. One could say that she's grounded him while he's made her more comfortable to be her true Houston self. Beyonce is now a 32 year old woman. She's no different than any other woman in her 30s when it comes to sexuality. She's hit her peak and she's not holding back with displaying the level of sexual confidence she has in her marriage.

This new music likely won't change people's perception of sex within a marriage. However, the Carters have sparked a conversation that has little to do with business or strategy. They're praising the positives of being in love and being married. Great sex is a bonus yet still important part in holding it all together.
