The second inauguration for President Barack Obama was wonderful, touching, inspiring, and filled with amazing speeches and performances by some of the top singers in the world, including, Kelly Clarkson, James Taylor, and Beyonce'.
The United States Marine band accompanied some of the performers and they were asked to accompany Beyonce' as she sang the National Anthem for the President and all in attendance.
Her performance was amazing, more than 800,000 people were thrilled with the powerful amazing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner that Beyonce' sang, but now it is being said that Beyonce' lip-synced the song and many are not happy with that.
A Marine Corps band spokesman said the band did not play live for the anthem and that Beyonce' did not sing live either.
Kristen Dubois, who is Master Sgt. of the U.S. Marine Corps band told ABC News;
"We all know Beyoncé can sing, We all know the Marine Corps Band can play. We do not know why she decided to go with the pre-recorded music at the last minute."
She said that the Marine band did perform live during other parts of the inauguration, like during Kelly Clarkson's performance which was sung live, but they were asked not to play for the anthem.A spokesman for the Pentagon said that the band was asked not to play because there was no chance for Beyonce' to practice with the band so a live performance from the band was decided to be a no go considering the event in which it was being performed at.
Gregory A. Wolf from the Pentagon said this though regarding Beyonce';
"No one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded."
Beyonce' did remove her earpiece during the singing of the anthem which has caused many to wonder if it is true that she was not really singing because the earpiece is needed when singing live.
When watching the performance it is hard to decipher if she was or was not ip-synching and there has been no comment from Beyonce' or any of her reps regarding her National Anthem performance.
DuBois has not responded to any more questions.
Whitney Houston chose to lip-sync in 1991 at the Super Bowl and was applauded for an amazing performance.
Beyonce's performance was amazing and whether it was pre-recorded and she did lip-sync to her own voice or she sang live, does it really matter?
Obama has made no issue of the song and looked to be thrilled with Beyonce' and her rendition, isn't that all that matters?
