Beyonce Launches #WhatisPretty campaign

To celebrate Beyonce being on the cover of Time magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People’ issue Time is releasing the video for first track of Bey’s 2013 surprise album, ‘Pretty Hurts.‘ The video features many of the painful realities women face in our society to try and be “pretty,” such as popping diet pills, vomiting, and beauty products and procedures. The video is meant to bring a very body positive message to Bey’s fans and women everywhere, while sending an even greater message to the world.

In conjunction, the star and the magazine are launching the #WhatisPretty campaign where Instagram users use the hashtag to show how they define “pretty.” There is also a website, whatispretty.com, which at this point is just a picture, describing details of the campaign. Most likely as the campaign progresses photos and more content will be added to the site. You can join the #WhatisPretty campaign by posting a photo and using the hashtag right on your Instagram page.
