World famous fashion brand, Gucci, Salma Hayek-Pinault, Frida Giannini, and Beyonce Knowles-Carter have formed Chime for Change. Chime for Change is a global charitable campaign to raise awareness of the many issues that affect girls and women in their daily lives.
According to the organization's Facebook page, "Chime for Change is a community of people working to promote Education, Health and Justice for every girl, every woman, everywhere." According to www.gucci.com, "Chime for Change serves to convene, unite and strengthen voices speaking out for girls and women around the world and will focus on three key pillars: Education, Health and Justice."
This organization is of the utmost importance in the world of today with crimes against women on the rise. Women are universally the victims of sexual assault, genital mutilation, and discrimination in the workplace, church, home, and other institutions.
Pop superstar has more interest in the rights of girls and women than just penning the feminist anthems, Single Ladies and Run The World (Girls). She is quoted on www.gucci.com as saying, ""I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women. Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be. It’s up to us to change the statistics for women around the world. I’m honored to be in the company of women who live fearlessly and set an example for the next generation of young ladies."
