Beyonce and Jay-Z could have been visiting royalty. The celeb couple, who are staunch supporters of President Obama, drew plenty of crowd attention at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C. on Monday, Jan. 21, from their front row seats on the platform. Reports Style Bistro, Beyonce went super glam, mixing Pucci and Dior. She sang the national anthem right after the presidential address.
The day was one of the coldest on record for presidential inaugurations, and everyone needed a topcoat. Beyonce and Jay-Z wowed the crowd with their looks, both in dressing for the weather and the clothes they wore underneath. Beyonce stunned in a black velvet Pucci, floor-length gown. She covered it, except while singing, with a Christian Dior coat. The singer added perfect shoes, perfect emeralds, and perfect hair.
Jay-Z made a rare appearance in a charcoal gray suit, with slightly darker coat and muffler. No hint of rapper dress-down spoiled his dapper appearance. He added aviator glasses, for a trendy effect.
Beyonce and Jay-Z held a fundraiser for President Obama during the campaign, so a role in the inauguration was theirs for the asking. But not everyone brings to the table a voice like that of Beyonce. “The Star-Spangled Banner” is not an easy song, but she nailed it.
Afterwards, the two singers will be able to share their memories with baby Blue Ivy, as soon as she is old enough to fully appreciate it all. But will anyone who was not yet born when Barack Obama had his first inauguration ever really know what it meant to Beyonce and Jay-Z?
