It seems Beyonce is continuing her roller coaster year. Not long after releasing a secret album and turning heads at the 2014 Grammy Awards, Beyonce has fired her manager. According to a Feb 1 story by the Daily Mail, the superstar singer reportedly released her most recent manager, Faisal Durrani.

This has led to widespread speculation that Beyonce is intending to take a more active role in managing the day to day aspects of her career. However, it is unlikely that she will face this challenge alone. Jay-Z has made headlines for his entrance into the world of sports management, and many believe that he had a strong influence on his wife's decision. While she will benefit from his guidance, it is unlikely that he will have a direct managerial role over her career.

Jay has been heavily involved in Beyonce’s career for years, and was instrumental in organising the Mrs Carter Show World Tour. But he isn’t officially regarded as her manager – she really is independent.’

This is not the first time that Beyonce has shaken up her management team. In 2011, the star made headlines when she dismissed her father, Matthew Knowles. Until his release, Matthew had managed her career for more than 20 years. While this shakeup was done to give her more freedom over her career, it did not last long. Within a couple of years she had hired Durrani.

Do you think Beyonce will be able to successfully manage her own career, or will she eventually have to hire another manager?
