Beyonce Knowles-Carter made quite an impression on the 2013 Super Bowl with her epic halftime performance which shut off the lights literally bringing history double time. She had our attention before the Super Bowl started and during the game everyone was counting down for the highly anticipated and much awaited performance of Queen Bey!
She started her show off with a historical night being “Pepsi’s first ever crowd sourced Super Bowl XLVII Halftime show introduction with hundreds of real fans from around the country on 500 frames,” said Angelique Krembs, VP of marketing at PepsiCo. There were also a mixture of a few celebrity faces. After the 30 second mark all her great fans ran onto the field as the band played “Run The World (Girls).”
Her costume was designed by NY desginer Rubin Singer based off his fall 2013 collection. There was definitely some meaning behind her fashion statement. The shoe game was Crazy as well as all the ladies rocked Proenza Schouler booties to match their costumes.
She moved us with “Crazy in Love,” “End of Time” and “Baby Boy” and then the surprise appearance of Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams reuniting Destiny’s Child was the icing on the cake. ( Although, I had interviewed Michelle two weeks before while she was attending the Stellar Awards and she tried to play off her special appearance. WATCH HERE.)
They rocked out some of their classic hits "Bootylicious" and "Independent Women.” Then Beyonce asked her bandmates to perform “Single Ladies” with her and she thanked them for being there with her and they put on their sexy girl walk in their off the stage.
Next, Queen Bey moved the crowd and TV audience with a special rendition of Halo. Needless to say it was a star-studded PERFECTION performance as only Beyonce can provide!
(And if that weren't enough she made history again shutting the LIGHTS OFF AFTER HER PERFORMANCE AND DELAYING THE GAME! :) )
Now Queen Bey dropped the news via her website after her performance...drumroll please! She is set to kick off The Mrs. Carter World Tour on April 15th in Serbia, and then she will be in the U.S. Starting June 28th.
