According to WWD, Beyonce and Tina Knowles will be launching a Sasha Fierce clothing line, aimed at school girls. The junior label will carry shoes, glasses and other eyewear, lingerie, sportswear and jewelry.
Tina Knowles will create the clothing, but she says that Beyonce put forth ideas on some of the designs.
“She definitely tells me what she likes and what she doesn’t. It was her suggestion to line the rips of the jeans with the mesh and lace,” she said. “It makes the jeans look really different from what’s out there.”
Don't expect the new clothing line to stick around however, it was created from the idea of the Sasha Fierce tour, and will be discontinued at the end of the concert. Knowles does say that it could become a permanent part of the House of Dereon if the fans/shoppers respond well to the new line.
Not everyone likes the idea of Sasha Fierce clothing on young girls however. Says one reporter from NBCNewYork.com:
"Sasha Fierce," however, resonates with young (possibly misguided) girls who might buy Beyoncé and Tina's clothes."
"Emphasis ours, because nothing's sure to wow an eleventh-grader's love interests — and teachers — like Beyoncé's signature black bodysuit, which is the only outfit that can take a girl from second period to triathlon practice to a bank robbery."
So tell me, do you like the clothing put out by House of Dereon, and do you think that Beyonce should create an "edgy" clothing line for girls?
