Beyonce Knowles proved she was a class act when she let Taylor Swift finish her award acceptance speech after it was previously interrupted by Kanye West.
West, reminiscent of his bizarre tirade after Hurricane Katrina when he said then-President Bush "doesn't care about black people," he once again went off script to the consternation of everyone around him. After Swift had won the award for the Best Female Video, and was just about to give her list of thank yous when West appeared on stage, grabbed the microphone from her hand and said, "I'm sorry, but Beyonce did one of the best videos of all time." Swift, visibly hurt, tried to finish her speech afterward, but quickly left the stage. Could Kanye's outburst have had something to do with the bottle of cognac he was spotted with on the red carpet? Stay classy, Kanye!
Fortunately for Swift, Beyonce is a true professional. After winning the Video of the Year award, Beyonce invited Swift back up on stage to finish accepting her award. When she first took the stage, Swift said, "Maybe we can try this again."
