Beyonce blocks Jesus in a picture of 'The Last Supper' (Video)

According to The Christian Post on Jan. 5, Beyonce posed in front of a painting of Da Vinci's "The Last Supper." While the disciples are clearly seen, Jesus is blocked completely by Beyonce.

Beyonce must be proud of the photo because she posted it on her Instagram account.

Was this intentional? Is it sending a message?

Whether Beyonce deliberately covered up Jesus or not, the photo has sparked controversy especially by Christians. Some say the 32-year-old singing superstar seems to be sending the message that she is is replacing Jesus.

However, some explained that Beyonce was posing on a Miami-based juice bar featuring an Andy Warhol mural of "The Last Supper," and the criticisms are unnecessary, according to The Huffington Post.

Tim Wildmon, president of American Family Association, said in a statement:

"Is nothing sacred anymore? This is clearly an act of disrespect towards Jesus Christ, whom Beyonce covers up with her pose. This had to be done intentionally."

One of Beyonce's fan said, "In her interviews she repeatedly claimed to be a Christian so for her to take a pic like this, of course Christians are upset. It is very disrespectful and of poor taste. She is always so deliberate about the image she portrays so she had to have some idea of this impact."

Some of her followers told said she could never be their savior. One person commented, "Jesus Christ is my savior, not you. Besides that, I love Beyonce, but you will never be God."

What do you think? Do you find Beyonce hiding Jesus in the painting offensive?
