Gearing up to go full tilt in the new year, Beyonce announced moments ago (January 10) that a new Destiny's Child CD will be released for the first time since 2005. Speaking of the new music, she posted on her website:
I AM SO PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE FIRST ORIGINAL DESTINY'S CHILD MUSIC IN EIGHT YEARS! - BEYONCÉ
The news comes on the heels of a sexy GQ cover, a Super Bowl Halftime performance, and the announcement of the singer taking the stage at President Obama's inauguration on January 21. In addition to the new DC release, Beyonce revealed to GQ magazine that she has joined forces with Justin Timberlake on her upcoming album. After a mysterious tweet by Justin last night, many are wondering if his cryptic message is alluding to the release of their musical collaboration.
Pulling out all the stops this go round, Bey has also teamed up with fellow music heavyweights Timbaland, The Dream and Pharrell. "I've been working with Pharrell and Timbaland and Justin Timberlake and Dream. We all started in the '90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us," she shared with the mag. Giving a hint as to what to expect of her new release, Beyonce explained the sound as, "Mostly R&B. I always have my Prince and rock/soul influences. There's a bit of D'Angelo, some '60s doo-wop and Aretha and Diana Ross."
