According to a report from The Sun on Sunday, Jan. 13, superstar couple Beyonce and Jay-Z dropped a tremendous amount of money on their daughter Blue Ivy for her first birthday.
Included in their purchases was a diamond-laced Barbie doll that reportedly cost $80,000. The doll has 160 diamond gems along with while gold jewelry.
The princess-themed party was for close family and friends in New York. Added to the tab were the cost of white and pink roses, a cake worth over $1,000, and accessories and toys for Blue Ivy’s invited friends.
Adults invited to the party were also treated with gift bags of their own that included concert tickets and personalized gold pens.
Sounds like a lavish get-together, but seeing as though Beyonce and Jay-Z made an estimated $78 million last year alone, they surely could afford things.
“Nothing’s been too big or expensive for their little princess,” a source revealed. “They wanted her first birthday to set the tone for the rest of her life. They work hard for their money and the first thing they want to spend it on is their baby girl.
The celebration comes on the heels of Beyonce’s revealing GQ cover shoot. And with a halftime appearance forthcoming for this year’s Super Bowl, Beyonce’s name is again starting to generate headlines like year’s past.
