Beyoncé is getting heat on Tuesday for what was a beautiful performance on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. After rumors swelled that the star wasn't really singing for the president the truth has come out. It's been confirmed that Beyoncé only moved her lips but didn't sing live for the ceremony. On Tuesday Master Sgt. Kristin DuBois the public affairs chief for the United States Marine Band confirmed the music and vocals were prerecorded.
"The Marine Band did perform live for the ceremony, parade, and even the prayer service today," said Kristin DuBois about the band’s performance. "At the very last minute, just before she went out, we received the instructions." Those instructions were from Beyoncé to use the recorded materials.
The United States Marine Band is getting a lot of heat for Beyoncé’s decision as the band is known for emotionally moving live performances. Honoring the requests of the star might have upset the masses as it’s unusual that the secret wasn’t revealed until Tuesday when rumors starting hitting the internet.
While Beyoncé isn’t the first star who has lip-synched, there was always a grace about the star that gave people to reflect on her genuine performances. Knowing that she didn’t really sing life for the performance makes everyone wonder what will happen at the Super Bowl. Will that performance be recorded too?
