Beyoncé is making headlines for her upcoming Super Bowl performance, but behind the scenes she is mom to her young daughter Blue Ivy. Celebrating the child’s birthday last week, the Daily Sun on Monday is reporting the family spent $200,000 celebrating the child’s birthday.
While parents are generous when it comes to the birthday parties for their children, what might be surprising is what gift the one-year-old got from her parents. According to the newspaper Blue Ivy was presented with a diamond encrusted Barbie doll that was worth $80,000. With such an expensive doll, one can only assume it is for the child to look at and not play with.
Other incidentals for the part included $2,000 for the cake, $30,000 for the guest gifts and thousands for the flowers. While Beyoncé definitely can afford giving such lavish parties, hopefully the entertainer won’t forget to teach her child the value of money when she gets older. With such expensive gifts it’s almost crazy to think what might happen if the gift values stay the same in ten or fifteen years from now.
