Who releases an album (on iTunes), without the build up of the press? Well, Beyoncé does!!
No one could pull this off but "Queen B" herself.
The icon released the self-titled studio album, her fifth, late on Thursday, December 12, 2013 with absolutely no promotion. The album reportedly contains 14 songs and 17 videos; fans can tune in for $15.99 or just wait one week to purchase songs individually. The official CD/DVD is expected to be available at retail just in time for the holidays.
In a press release, Beyoncé said, "I didn't want to release my music the way I've done it. I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There's so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn't want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and from me to my fans."
The album, "Beyoncé" contains collaborations with Jay Z, Drake, Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean, Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland and more.
Her beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy, is featured in a song/video simply titled "Blue".
Will you be getting the album as a stocking stocker or as an immediate download?
