Icon, Betty White has been in show business for over 60 years. Now 88 years young, White actually began her career on a ‘live’ television show. White has appeared on numerous television shows including ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show,’ ‘The Golden Girls,’ and ‘Boston Legal.’ She’s also been a guest on many daytime talk shows, including ‘The View’ and ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show.’ White even hosted ‘Saturday Night Live,’ because of a campaign on Facebook.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, White will try her hand at writing. According to USA Today, the actress will soon ‘write two books for G. P. Putnam's Sons.’ White’s first book, ‘Listen Up,’ will be full of ‘life lessons’ the actress has learned throughout her successful career. The book will be in stores next spring.
USA Today went on to say, ‘the second book, titled The Zoo and I: Betty and Her Friends, will be filled with stories and photographs capturing the daily life of her animal friends at the zoo. White is a longtime member of the board of the Los Angeles Zoo, and she has been a passionate supporter of animal health and welfare her entire life. The book is slated for a 2012 release.’
White currently stars in the new comedy, ‘Hot in Cleveland’ with Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick. The show airs Wednesday nights on TV Land (Comcast Cable Channel 63 in the Detroit area). Click here for the TV Land full program schedule.
