Betty White may be 88 years old, but the former "Golden Girls" star is getting more work now than ever. We already knew about her plans to host "Saturday Night Live" on May 8 -- now, Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly is also reporting that she will have a role in the season finale of "The Middle."
White will reportedly play a librarian who is just a little upset over some overdue books -- considering her knack for zany comedy, we can certainly expect this role to be taken just a little over-the-top.
"The Middle" has fit in nicely as a part of ABC's Wednesday-night lineup, and the network has already decided to greenlight the show for a second season. Having Betty White on board -- who has recently enjoyed a resurgence thanks to a Super Bowl commercial and an acceptance speech at the Screen Actors Guild Awards -- will almost certainly help the show get a decent bump in the ratings.
