Betty White pitches Snickers: Stars in Super Bowl commercials (video)

Betty White saw her career resurge in 2010 when Snickers used the entertainer for their commercial. She, along with Abe Vigoda, were part of the Snickers Super Bowl commercial advertising campaign that got people to think about eating the candy bar when a snack was needed. Part of our Stars in Best Super Bowl Commercials Series, this is one of the best examples of star power used in a Super Bowl commercial.

Using her character as a comparison of how a friend acts when not having enough energy, the legend is seen on the football field barely moving and when she misses a pass she hits a puddle of mud. Her dialog in the ad was used weeks after the commercial aired as fans loved using her language on the commercial.

“Oh come on man, you have been riding me all day,” says Betty White in the commercial.

While Abe Vigoda didn’t find a big resurgence in his career, White’s career returned to the top of the entertainment world as there was a new appreciation for the celebrity and her sense of humor seemed to tickle America’s funny bone.
