In "The Lost Valentine", Caroline Thomas (Betty White) lost her beloved husband Neil in World War II. They said goodbye on Valentine's Day at the train station when he went off to fight in World War II. Neil was a Navy pilot who was being sent to the Pacific Theater in 1944.
Their goodbye at Union Station was the last time that Caroline ever saw her beloved husband. He was listed in missing in action.
For 60 years, Caroline made a pilgrimage to Union Station to salute the memory of her husband and the magical times they enjoyed together.
Decades later, television journalist Susan Allison (Jennifer Love Hewitt) investigates the circumstances of Neil’s death. She gets to know Caroline and a friendship develops between the two women. Susan ends up falling in love with Neil and Caroline's grandson, Lucas (Sean Faris).
