The Better Health and Wellness showcase hosted by Charlotte Reed on Tuesday at the Intercontinental Hotel could not have been more aptly named. I got chills when representatives from Petco demonstrated their new earth friendly product line made from recycled newspapers and plastic water bottles. The beds and fabrics made from the spun recycled bottles were incredibly soft, and apparently the entire bottle can be recycled too! In addition to being great for the environment, these products are made for animals of all breeds, labeled according to species.
As I walked from table to table, I was very impressed by the array of products aimed at enhancing the health and well-being for your pets. With Molly Mutt dog duvets, you can convert your household pillows into beautiful dog beds. Trimline Recovery Collars are specially designed to be soft and comfortable for dogs. I wish I had known about these after Eli's knee surgeries, as well as Fitpaws Fitness and Rehab balance balls for dogs to help with his recovery.
Your pet’s safety was also a major theme at the show. Premier's Pogo Plush toys, with no harmful stuffing and a special bounce back, have proven to be fun for dogs. BreezeGuard screens for car door windows will allow Fido to sniff out the window safely. Safe Made Pet Products featuring bowls and toys have been safety tested for the whole family.
Petsmart offered their GNC vitamin line for pets , while Oxyfresh.com had products for hygiene, oral care, arthritis and hypertension. The World's Best Cat Litter, scented with lavender, smelled so good that I was tempted to buy a bag to use as potpourri.
As was to be expected, many celebrity pet owners attended the show, including Carolyn Hennesey from ”Cougar Town”, Archie Panjabi from “The Good Wife”, AnnaSophia Robb from “Soul Surfer”, Beth Stern, Caroline Manzo from Real Housewives of New Jersey (Bravo), Sonja Morgan from Real Housewives of New York City (Bravo), Professional Poker Player Beth Shak, Kristen Alderson from “One Life to Live”, Melissa Archer from “One Life to Live”, Farah Fath, from “One Life to Live”, David Frei from the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, and several Doggie Moms from NYC life’s new reality series.
I arrived a tad late for the celebrity frenzy, but I did have the pleasure seeing Diane West from New York Tails Magazine. Eli the Chihuahua was home napping, dreaming of a world of eco-friendly products.
