Better Days, the first pop-up bar in Brickell, hosts grand opening celebration on Friday, August 8, 2014. Grand opening will include complimentary beer and cocktails from 9 p.m.- midnight, and music by ESS & EMM. The bar, located inside a thrift shop withing the 500 Brickell Building, will be open 7 days a week, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Its incognito location is considered a subtle little hideaway, owner Jeronimo Hirschfeld considers the bar as a place that caters to the locals who are "in the know" if you will. Created by native Floridian, Challo Schott, Better Days offers a hyper-chill environment that pays homage to the American blue collar establishments of the once "better days," keeping that mentality alive with its promise to offer "fine drinks at fair prices."
When asked why he wanted to open a bar in Miami, Schott said, “Miami is at the forefront of culture, arts, music, and cool and there's no better place to try to drive a stake into than the epicenter of it all.”
Schott continued, “The concept of Better Days was inspired by an image I had collected about a man in various stages of his life and the happiness he'd shared in those four images with friends and family. Many folks tend to hold on to the past as their best days while also looking to the future for more, when some of our better days are the ones we are living now.”
Given its location, the bar will also cater to locals by offering discounts for the residents of the 500 Brickell Building.
