Betsy Perry, Author and owner of Classic Elite Yarns, has released a new concept-knitting book called Shawls, Wraps, and Scarves. After promoting it at Vogue Knitting LIVE New York, and partnering with other stores since then, Perry is finally coming to Chicago.
Perry is spending her next few days in the Chicago area on tour with her latest book, Shawls, Wraps, and Scarves. The tour will start in St. Charles at Wool and Company today at noon, and then to Idea Studio in La Grange at 5p.m. Tomorrow, Perry will be taking her book and a trunk show to Elemental Yarns in Shorewood at noon and Sheep's Clothing in Valparaiso at 6p.m. Finally on Friday, Perry will appear at Three Bags Full at 7p.m. in Northbrook.
In addition to bringing copies of her book to sign, Classic Elite Yarns will be providing door prizes and there will be a sixty-piece sample suitcase on hand for customers to see each knitted piece from the book.
The concept of Perry's book is a different twist on a typical knitting-pattern book; instead of sixty patterns, it features twenty patterns that can be knitted and worn in three different ways. Samples of each way will be shown to customers so they can see the concept in person.
Host stores are adding extra-special deals for their customers during the tour, with Sheep's Clothing providing refreshments and Elemental Yarns offering 10% off all Classic Elite Yarns during their store's event. Each event will last between two and three hours, with no specific reservation required. Books will be on hand for purchase at the event, however pre-purchasing a copy is advised if possible.
