On today's Dr. Phil, Dr. Phil tries to reunite sisters that were torn apart by one terrible decision. One set of sisters has to deal with the betrayal of one sister sleeping with the other sister's fiancee and the other set have a disagreement in regards to the one fiancee.
Alicia and Michelle
Being born 15 months apart, Alicia and Michelle were as close as any siblings could be. They were best friends but when Michelle slept with Alicia's fiancee, that friendship and closeness ended. Granted, it was Alicia's friends who told her a year later about Michelle's affair, Alicia hasn't talked to her sister since finding out of her betrayal. Michelle has made several attempts to apologize and to try and reconcile with Alicia with no avail. Michelle has admitted to being under the influence of alcohol the night of the affair, but all Alicia hear are excuses from Michelle. For the sake of her daughter, she has somewhat forgiven the father of her child for the affair, but Alicia will not forgive Michelle.
Michelle wasn't even invited to Alicia's wedding. Alicia did not marry the man that slept with Michelle; it is a different man that she married and is now expecting a little boy in April. Alicia stated that she now has her family to protect and worry about and can't be bothered by Michelle anymore. She then told Michelle that when her daughter asked why Alicia and her father aren't together, then she has to be the one to deal with all the emotions that her daughter will have towards her father and Michelle.
Robin, Alicia and Michelle's mom, feels like she is directly in the middle between these women. Dr. Phil said that the ex-fiancee was a snake and that she needs to put it into perspective. That it does take two to tango and that she did make a bad decision that night. He did tell Alicia that it was a good thing she found out then and not now when they could have been married and then find out about the affair. He then asked Alicia if this was going to be a life sentence and even brought out that murderers don't even get life sentences. Alicia finally told Michelle that after a while that maybe she can beginning the healing process and learn to trust Michelle again.
Nicole and Amanda
Nicole does not like Amanda's fiancee, Nick. She calls him names and feels like he won't amount to anything. The day after she met Nick, he ended up moving in with Amanda where Nicole and her three kids were staying at also. As a single mother, Nicole's top priorities are her children and for Amanda to recklessly let some strange man move in almost immediately is rather irresponsible of her. Come to find out also is that Nick had a gun in the house and failed to inform Nicole of it and of its location within the house. That could have been tragic if one of the kids had found it loaded.
Amanda feels that Nicole's root problem is jealously. Amanda feels that Nicole's real problem is that she's jealous of how Amanda's has turned out versus her life. Amanda traveled the world, did a few commercials and dappled in modeling whereas Nicole got pregnant at 17 and has struggled in her life. Nicole feels that Amanda betrayed her by choosing Nick over her and her kids.
Nick believes that Nicole needs to grow up and figure out how to deal with her anger issues. He thinks that she needs to learn a new vocabulary and had even stated that he doesn't want her around his young child that he has with Amanda. Dr. Phil told Nicole that she needs to learn that Amanda is an adult and that she's going to do what she wants and doesn't need her approval and not to put their children in the middle of this.
