Bethesda Softworks is notorious for turning out high quality games with a longer than average amount of time in development. Many have stopped to ask others why this is. Today we may finally have an answer as Pete Hines, Vice President of Marketing and PR told us in an exclusive interview, "We have four studios that are all working on games, but the studios that have announced projects are working on that project and nothing else."
He continued, "Our studios tend to be focused on one thing, to make sure they make each game great."
But with the amount of developers that the publishing company works with, surely they have more projects in the works. Hines affirmed our assumption, "...we have more games in development. We’re not talking about what Bethesda Game Studios is up to, we’re not talking about what id [Software] is up to. Outside of the Dishonored DLC, we’re not saying what Arkane is up to. So we certainly have studios that are working on things, and BattleCry Studios, we’re also not talking about what they are working on."
As to when we hear any announcements regarding these titles is up in the air. "Whenever it's ready" is the most commonly reverted to answer. We just hope it's ready sooner rather than later.
