Fallout 4 or not, Bethesda game director and executive producer Todd Howard said the studio doesn’t have a timeframe on announcing what they’re working on currently, but said it will be sometime until they reveal, according to a report today from VG 24/7.
During an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, Howard was asked to comment on the Fallout 4 in relation to the Survivor 2299 ARG hoax that had fans of the franchise abuzz last year.
“The ARG was very, very well done,” Howard said, laughing. “It’s a testament to our fans. And they’re doing that stuff and making mods. The stuff they do, we often look at and go, ‘Well, why don’t we just do that? That’s really great.’”
Howard, however, didn’t bite on revealing any possible details about the rumored Fallout 4, just saying that they don’t have a timeframe for announcing what they’re working on and it’s probably going to “be a while” before they do.
“We’ve gotten fairly used to all the questions and curiosity over the years. Everyone wants information,” Howard said. “Right now, we’re just trying to figure out which of our ideas are going to stick and finding an appropriate time to talk about it.”
Curiously, documents did leak in December showing Bethesda making a casting call for a game with a Boston setting, according to a previous VG 24/7 report.
Howard, again, didn’t address anything regarding that report.
